Project: Ambidextrous Toucan Update #1

ToucanIt has been over six months since I ran a Poll to pick a project.  I have not forgotten it. Stuff happens (that is the polite version of shit happens). I decided to go back to the original project name.

The old job made it very hard to paint. Delivering or moving auto parts caused a lot of aches and pains.  Even on the days I didn’t work. Within the last month I gave my notice and changed jobs. Driving a van now.  Take people to the airport and bring them home.  I don’t hurt anymore and I can get more hours. That means the budget isn’t so tight.  It is all good..

Today is the first Sunday in June.  It is Games & Gears Paint Day 2014.  Well, my weekend is Wednesday and Thursday.  So here is some of the stuff I worked on a couple of days ago. Paint something and post some pictures.

Ashlynn fronMost often I do the WarCaster first.  I love this model.  She has a little bit of shine.  I need another layer of dull coat on her

Two Vanguards are required by the theme list.  Good looking models that are a bitch to assemble.  That huge Halberd may look good, but transporting it without knocking that arm off will be hard too…

Sam & the Devil Dogs are models that got released about the same time as the Nyss Hunters and Steel Head Halberdiers.  They look great, but most of them have two hands on their weapon and the contact points are not great.  On top of that, the unit has three weapons, Chain Net, Pickaxe and Hand Cannon.  The chain net is part of all the models (except the one using it). I pinned the extra weapons to the back of every model. No specific painting plans for them yet.

Precursor Knights are second hand, they came assembled and primed. Plans are to do the book paint scheme. I think the White/Blue/Gold looks sharp.

Dannon and Bull are pretty easy. Dannon’s weapon needed to be pinned. Bull’s sword needed one.  I was missing Bull’s beer jug, PP has already shipped it. No painting plans yet, they are Mercenaries, almost anything will look good.

Rutger is one piece and Taryn had one arm to attach.  Again, I like the book colors.

One unit of ATGM, Officer and Gun Mage Captain Adept are being painted by a friend. Payment for some ninja shopping. The other Gun Mage Captain Adept is a gift that is being painted by a friend. This will be the painting guide for the second unit of ATGM and Officer.

There are also a bunch of Jacks on the list.  Jacks are pretty easy.  All I need to do is figure out the colors.  I will probably do the rest of the Jacks at the end of this project..
